Wrekin Rail undertakes projects throughout England and Wales and has gained considerable experience of working on, over, alongside and under railways, successfully undertaking technically and logistically complex projects.
           
Wrekin has been involved in Rail projects for almost 20 years and has a proven history for delivering work safely, cost effectively, to the required quality and with due regard for the environment. With an approved Contractors Assurance Case and Link Up certification for a large range of disciplines we are able to offer services directly to a number of clients including Network Rail.

The Rail co-ordination office is at Runcorn, Cheshire and work is undertaken on a national basis by utilising a network of well-established offices and depots, with rail staff based at Bradford, Raunds near Wellingborough, and Shifnal near Telford.

The company has a multi-skilled and highly trained direct labour force, over 60 of which are PTS trained. This valuable resource ensures a high degree of control over project delivery with an excellent safety record whilst providing optimum quality. Having such a large resource available in-house allows for greater flexibility for adequately managing peaks in demand such as weekend possessions.

Wrekin Rail has four main industry focussed areas of work: Environmental, Property, Civil Engineering and Telecoms, which together have the capacity and capability to deliver a range of services to public and private sector clients. These include:

• Refurbishment and construction of new telecommunications routeworks, including cable installation.
• Reconstruction, refurbishment and maintenance of railway and highway structures including bridges, gantries, culverts, subways etc.
• Heavy civil engineering structures replacement in short possessions.
• Construction of new track, sidings etc.
• Project management of permanent way, OHLE and S&T disciplines.
• Site investigation and structures assessments.
• Embankment / cutting stabilisation, major earthworks and drainage works.
• Station infrastructure enhancement and new build, including minor building works, car parks, CCTV, lighting, barriers, soft and hard landscaping, drainage and help points etc.
• Station building refurbishment, facilities improvements (DDA requirements) and facilities management.
• Lineside safety enhancement projects eg safe cess walkways, access upgrades, UTX’s and URX’s etc.
• Ground stabilisation such as soil nailing, piling and gabions.
