St Georges Square, Huddersfield
This £3.5m contract awarded by Kirklees Council is for the renovation and improvement of St Georges Square, one of the finest examples of a Victorian square in England. This busy square is bounded on one side by Huddersfield Railway Station. The works comprise new and relaid granite and yorkstone paving, trees, street furniture, water features, extensive lighting and remodelling of the square. The project is due to start in April 2008 with a programme of 39 weeks.
