At Wrekin we work closely with all parties to deliver the requirements of our customers by:

  • Encouraging an open and trusting working relationship
  • Encouraging the adoption and use of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring effective and clear methods of communication, identifying and meeting the requirements, needs and expectations of our customers in an effective, efficient and sustainable manner.

Our approach to the identification and development of key processes is based on the principles of achieving best value for money and providing an efficient and effective service to clients and customers.

Wrekin firmly believes its greatest asset is its people. The company was awarded Investors In People in 1997 and is firmly committed to its principles. Wrekin employs approximately 655 highly trained people of which 546 are production staff. Another major asset is a large plant fleet of over 2000 items, with an asset value over £10m.

Wrekin is an accredited centre for administering NVQs and holds the Certificate of Training Achievement (CTA) for plant operators. We have a dedicated training unit which has enabled our latest training initiative, which concerns the registration and qualification of all our workforce in accordance with CSCS, to be realised.

We embrace the principles of supply chain management and operate a list of approved suppliers and subcontractors that enables us to manage delivery of projects more efficiently.

It is our objective to deliver the job ‘right first time’ and to target zero defects by effectively managing the quality, environmental and health and safety risks associated with the construction of all projects. At Wrekin we understand that the most important issue to all involved in any project is delivery within the defined time, cost and quality parameters. Our management systems have been developed with this in mind.

In order to reduce bureaucracy and to generate a holistic approach to programme management, Wrekin has developed the Integrated Construction Phase Plan (ICPP). This is produced at the award of contract and is a site-specific document. The ICPP integrates Wrekin’s three key management systems (Environment, Quality and Health & Safety) as well as meeting the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2007 for a suitable Construction Phase H&S Plan. The ICPP is a living document, which is developed by designated staff and is constantly reviewed throughout the project duration.
